Occupational Outlook Handbook

The Occupational Outlook Handbook is created and maintained by the United States Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.  It provides information on what workers do; the work environment; education, training, and other qualifications; pay; the job outlook; information on state and area data; similar occupations; and sources of additional information, for 329 occupational profiles covering about 83 percent of the jobs in the economy.

My Next Move is part of the O*NET Online family.  It's an interactive tool for job seekers and students to learn more about their career options.  My Next Move has tasks, skills, salary information, and more for over 900 careers.  Users can find careers through keyword searches, by browsing industries, or through the O*NET Interest Profiler, a tool that offers personalized career suggestions based on a person's interests and level of work experience.

Job & Career Accelerator

The Job & Career Accelerator is a database offered through Learning Express Library.  Most of the career information it contains comes from O*NET Online, but it does have many short ebooks about different careers, including, but not limited to, caseworker, firefighter, Homeland Security professional, and police officer.  Creating a free account will allow you to save resources and bookmark articles you would like to go back to.
